First Star Software has been developing, publishing and licensing entertainment software since 1982, having created numerous best selling and award winning computer titles including Boulder Dash® and the SPY vs. SPY® series of games. Millions of units of each of the Boulder Dash® and Spy vs. Spy® series have been sold throughout the world. First Star co-publishes its titles for cell phones and SmartPhones with partners such as Chillingo; Kiloo and Magmic. Sales in the mobile series of Boulder Dash® games were just under a million units before First Star's launch of three Boulder Dash® titles for Android.

Currently, First Star develops and publishes games for Xbox LIVE® Arcade; cellphones; Smart Phones and Windows PCs and Macs. Our PC portal publishing partners include: Oberon, Big Fish Games, Play First, Reflexive, WildTangent, Shockwave, Boonty and Indiagames. We often license rights or co-develop and co-publish for consoles and other platforms. For example, Boulder Dash® Vol. 1 was released for WiiWare in partnership with Square Enix/Eidos. We co-publish Flash versions of our games with DotEmu along with portal partners such as SPIL. We partnered with Atari2600.com for limited, collectors' editions of Boulder Dash® (Volumes 1 and 2), Bristles™, Flip and Flop™ and other First Star cartridges for the Atari 5200. First Star Software's Greatest Hits™, is a Windows compendium of 14 of our titles from the 1980s published by First Star.

Our games have been licensed for numerous home computer systems popular in North America, Europe and Japan. In addition, First Star's games have been licensed for numerous video game consoles, hand-held platforms, and into the coin-operated arcades. Agreements for First Star's products, or its intellectual properties, have been successfully negotiated with numerous companies including: Nintendo, Sega, Electronic Arts, Square Enix/Eidos, Radio Shack, Parker Brothers, JVC and many, many others.

Within 18 months of First Star's inception, Warner Software, Inc., a Warner Communications company, acquired a fifty percent ownership in First Star. (Warner Software no longer retains an equity position.) In the company's formative years management focused heavily on the development and publishing of its own IP as well as licensing rights to properties such as SUPERMAN®, SPY vs. SPY® and ROMPER ROOM® often licensing rights for First Star's titles to third parties, particularly for Europe and Japan.
